13!

Firstly,
i found this uber dope 13 year old fashion blogger, TAVI GEVINSON :)

TAVI GEVINSON'S TAKE

She's only 13, but Tavi Gevinson has the fashion world enraptured. Bazaarasked the precocious teen to review the spring collections to see what the fuss is about.

You know that feeling when you're sort of floating around like a ghost and so exhausted that you consider drinking the Lola perfume in your goodie bag at Marc Jacobs? No? Me neither. Except this one time when I went to New York Fashion Week and it was sort of crazy.

Hi, I'm Tavi. I'm 13. I started my blog, Style Rookie, in March 2008, and my fashion adventures have certainly increased since. This past September, I trekked to New York because, while the instantaneousness of my beloved Internet is quite something, there really is nothing like being there, seeing the details up close, and feeling the air of anxiousness/excitement for yourself.

For spring 2010, the message is to be an individual. Don't get caught up in what other people think. True, that last sentiment is overused (it even graces the berainbowed motivational posters in my school's hallways), but it really did serve as the biggest message. The idea of looking "effortless" is always in style, but designers re-invent the idea each season. So now they're having fun mixing prints, textures, and accessories (at Louis Vuitton especially), going all out and not thinking twice about it. The breezy coolness simply comes with having the confidence to slip into a shirt-and-skirt combo with naked ladies printed all over it (see Miu Miu) or a dress with holes carved out (Viktor & Rolf's literal take on "cutting back").

This doesn't mean the more minimalist collections were bland. Though simple, they still showed human traits and character. Raf Simons at Jil Sander presented dresses and skirts that appeared vulnerable from their frays and shreds, and Francisco Costa showed crumpled pastel dresses that looked as if they'd been stained with tears at Calvin Klein.

Rodarte was the most enchanting. It began with fog slowly crawling up the legs of our chairs. A few people coughed, unimpressed. But through the fog flew the Mulleavy sisters' California condors, draped in burnt cheesecloths and distorted leather. Immediately, the unmoved were intrigued and didn't care to hide it. The audience broke into roaring applause. I was in heaven.
